Abstract
This study is designed to investigate the effects of self-sufficient group program(SSGP) based Transactional Analysis(TA) to the conditional welfare recipients. To certify the effects of SSGP, this study applied Self-Esteem Inventory(SEI), Hope Scale(HS), Self Reliance Scale(SRS), Relation Change Scale(RCS) as dependent variables. The subjects were 44 conditional welfare recipients, 21 of whom participated in 12 sessions of SSGP as experimental group, while the 23 recipients allocated to the control group with no treatment. The results showed that SSGP significantly increased the levels of the recipients¡¯ self esteem, hope, self reliance and interpersonal relation change at the post-tests. Especially Cohen¡¯s d values said that the most effect variables from SSGP were hope and next were self esteem, self reliance and interpersonal relation change. As suggestion of this study the authors suggested realization of psychosocial reliance and possibility of
applying TA theories in the self-sufficient programs. Finally this study proposed that for the purpose of improving self reliance of conditional welfare recipients it is important to start psychosocial self sufficient program before in full-scale self sufficient support program.
